A Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning Tires

Spring cleaning requires much effort and a lot of in-depth scrubbing. You have to get into those crevices and make sure everything is spotless. In the case of car cleaning, you also want to get down and dirty with your tires. After all, what's a clean car with dirty tires, right?

After the snow, you may not see a lot of dirt or mud on your tires, but there's plenty of cleaning to do. Brake dust, accumulated moisture, and rusty spots all need to be cleaned out. Here's a step-by-step guide that you can follow to make your tires sparkly clean.

Step 1: Gather all the necessary tools and materials.

First off, you need cleaning materials. KevianClean Wheel Cleaner is a great cleaning agent to get those dirt and grime off your wheels and tires. You will also need a brush, although you may want to use a softer fabric for the wheel rims. A pail of water and a sponge or chamois will also come in handy.

Step 2: Start with the exterior of the rims.

The exterior of the rims need to be smooth and clean. Otherwise, they will look really old and worn. Our wheel cleaner works well on all rim materials, including steel, chrome, and silver-plated wheels. Mild scrubbing will get the dirt off the surface. If there's any stain, give it a good spray and scrub it harder. Just be careful not to use a fabric or brush that can scratch the rims.

Step 3: Work your way into the inner parts of the rims.

The curves of the rims are where brake dust usually accumulate, so you need to use a brush that can get into these areas. If your rims are designed with small holes, you may want to use a smaller material like an old toothbrush. Make sure you apply a good amount of our wheel cleaner into those curves and holes.

Step 4: Proceed to the sides of the tires.

Once the rims are sparkling, move out to the sides of the tires. You can't exactly clean the whole tire but at least make sure the visible area is well-kept. You may use a stiffer brush for the tires because they are thick.

Step 5: Rinse with water and let it air dry.

Once the rims and tires are clean, you can just wash away the excess cleaning agent with water. If you wish, you can also use tire black to shine your tires and highlight the contrast between black tires and metal rims.

After cleaning your tires, it's time to move on to other parts of your car that need a good cleaning!
